About the Role:  

The Project Financial Accountant provides critical financial support to the Commercial Manager and project team, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and efficient financial management. Key responsibilities include:

• Manage project budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition, billing, and profitability analysis to support decision-making.
• Monitor cash flow, WIP, accounts receivable, and maintain internal financial controls.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Support tax compliance, audits, and financial reporting to management and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts, budgets, and Joint Venture finance processes.
• Oversee payroll, workers’ compensation, and other project-related financial obligations.
• Implement improvements to financial systems and processes.
• Perform ad hoc accounting and finance duties as required, including monthly client payment claims.

About You: 

You are an experienced finance professional with a strong background in supporting major projects, ideally within infrastructure. You will have:

• 3–5 years’ experience in a similar finance or project accounting role.
• Solid understanding of project structures, budgeting, reporting, and statutory compliance.
• Knowledge of accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal financial controls.
• Experience with upstream payment claims and developing financial processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software such as NetSuite or Xero.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
• Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills, with a detail-oriented, collaborative “can-do” attitude.
