We are currently seeking an experienced O&M Readiness Lead to join our team in Melbourne. 


About the Role:

We are seeking an O&M Readiness Lead to join our Operator Technical Team and take ownership of operational readiness and technical oversight for a driverless metro system. This role will ensure high reliability, safety, and efficiency by optimising operations and maintenance strategies, conducting technical analysis, and coordinating across teams. In this role, you will:

  • Ensure all design activities align with operational needs and Concept of Operations.
  • Review and contribute to O&M manuals, procedures, and training packages.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies through design or procedure improvements.
  • Manage changes impacting system requirements, ensuring stakeholder engagement and compliance with engineering management processes.
  • Approve controls to identify safety hazards associated with system integration and exported constraints.
  • Coordinate validation waivers and liaise on T&C and integration activities affecting O&M requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with system safety requirements by working closely with safety experts.
  • Participate in systems integration working groups to coordinate operational needs and documentation.
  • Interface with the requirements management team to ensure O&M needs are integrated throughout delivery.

This role will work closely with engineering, design, and delivery teams to ensure operational readiness and the seamless transition from design to operations.

Profile

About You: 

You are a highly motivated and experienced railway professional with a strong background in operational readiness, systems engineering, and maintenance strategy. You enjoy collaborating across teams and are confident driving initiatives that improve operational outcomes. You will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience (7–10 years) in railway delivery projects, including transition to O&M.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in maintenance strategy development and management, systems engineering methods including system definition, verification & validation, testing and commissioning, and defect impact management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving change.
